Paging Paige Spara! The actress plays Lea Dilallo on ABC’s medical dramaThe Good Doctor— and is loving every minute of it.
“Even though we’re filming emotionally draining scenes, I’m the happiest when we are all together,” Spara, 33, revealed in the latest issue ofUs Weekly.
TheKevin From Workalum has acted onThe Good Doctorsince its season 1 premiere in September 2017, playing a neighbor of Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore). After a will-they-won’t-they relationship, Shaun and Lea finally made it down the aisle during season 5. Antonia Brown, Fiona Gubelmann, Noah Galvin and Hill Harper also star on the ABC drama.
“I love working with Hill so much,” she gushed toUsof the 56-year-old actor, who plays Dr. Marcus Andrews on the series. “He keeps me on my toes with his ideas and I love talking life with him between setups.”
TheGood Doctorbegan airing its sixth season earlier this year, with Shaun and Lea hoping to expand their family after previously suffering a miscarriage during season 4. The series follows Shaun’s personal and career journey as he manages his autism spectrum disorder.
“One of my best friends is on the spectrum and that definitely drew me to [the role],” Spara toldNewBeautyin October. “I really wanted to be a part of the conversation of someone who’s on the spectrum and someone who’s not on the spectrum can come forth and have a relationship. I really wanted to explore what that looks like and what that can be like and put that out there in the world as part of that. I was really excited to be a part of that for sure.”
Shaun, Lea, Marcus and the rest of the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital staffers have a strong rapport, just like the actors themselves.

“We all get so giddy seeing each other and we usually jump up and down and talk for a few minutes before we get into our work, and we play with my dog,” Spara gushed to the beauty magazine at the time. “Since I’m one of the only non-doctors on the show, I sort of have more time to myself — those of us who don’t play doctors aren’t a part of the machine with the prep. The rest of the cast has to do this whole other thing getting ready with the prep and scheduling when they’re in the ER.”
Spara plays a hospital engineer in the IT department, while most of her costars play doctors and surgeons.

8:00 a.m.
Spara begins each morning with a sweet snuggle from her dog, Sally. “I make a cup of coffee and journal to empty my brain,” she told Us of her daily routine. “[Then] I take Sally out for a long walk around the seawall in Vancouver while I talk to my momma.”

Spara told Us that she enjoys her scenes with Harper because he “keeps me on my toes.”

After finishing up work for the day, the She’s in Portland actress headed home to whip up a TikTok recipe for dinner. After her attempt didn’t work out as planned, she decided to go out with a friend.
“We jump on a little sea very to take us to Granville Island to eat at Sandbar Restaurant,” Spara said.

“In these moments I’m reminded how grateful I am to have such amazing women in my life,” she gushed to Us about her impromptu evening out.

“I read Colleen Hoover’s It Starts With Us to unwind while Sally is cuddled right next to me. Heaven,” Spara said of her nighttime ritual.
